When organising your Phonebook you can set ringtones and picture IDs for specific entries so you can immediately know who’s calling you. N.B. Ringer ID is not available for entries stored on the SIM card.

To activate Ringer IDs:

  • Go to Settings (Figure 1) and select Ring Styles (Figure 2).
  • Select Detail (Figure 3) and press Change.
  • Scroll down to Ringer IDs (Figure 4) and press Change to turn them on.

To set a Ringer ID for an entry:

  • From the Standby screen, press Menu (The [–] button) and click Phonebook (Figure 5).
  • Highlight the entry you want to edit and press Menu (Figure 6).
  • Select Edit and scroll down to Ringer ID and press Change (Figure 7).
  • Then scroll down to the ringtone you want to assign to that contact and press Select (Figure 8).

The Motorola V3i also lets you assign pictures or photos to Phonebook entries, which will be visible on the external display when that person calls you. N.B. Picture ID is not available for entries stored on the SIM card.

  • From the Standby screen, press Menu (The [–] button) and click Phonebook (Figure 9).
  • Scroll down to the entry you want to edit and press Menu (Figure 10).
  • Select Edit then scroll down to Picture and press Change (Figure 11).
  • Choose the picture you want to assign and press Select (Figure 12).

You can also assign your Phonebook entries to specific categories; either Business, Personal, General or VIP. To do this:

  • From the Standby screen, press Menu (The [–] button), then Phonebook (Figure 13) and then scroll down to the entry you want to add to a category.
  • Then press the Menu key and choose Edit.
  • Scroll down to Category (Figure 14) then select a category to assign to the Phonebook entry (Figure 15).
