Setting up Bluetooth on the Motorola Razr V3i
Chris Leonard
Bluetooth is a great way of sharing photos, videos and ringtones with friends via your Motorola RAZR V3i, or backing up Phonebook and date book entries to your PC.
The Motorola V3i is equipped with Bluetooth technology, which is a free and easy way for you communicate wirelessly with other phones, PCs and printers, whether you want to swap pictures with friends, print them out, or swap ringtones and music tracks.
Switching Bluetooth On
When switching on Bluetooth, it’s worth giving a name to your Motorola V3i so that your friends can easily recognise your handset.
The Motorola V3i’s default name is ‘Motorola Phone’. This is what other Bluetooth phones will see when looking for you. To make sure you connect the right devices, follow these steps:
- From the standby screen, click Menu (The [–] button).
- Highlight Bluetooth Link (The Bluetooth icon) and click Select (Figure 1).
- Scroll down to Setup and click Select (Figure 2).
- Scroll down to Power and click Change.
- Select On (Figure 3).
- Highlight Name: Motorola Phone and click Change.
- Edit the name of the phone to what you want and click OK (Figure 4).
- The confirmation Changed: [Name] will appear (Figure 5).
The Motorola V3i doesn’t allow you to keep Bluetooth on all the time, but on the Bluetooth Link screen you can select Hands-free (Figure 6)and choose to [Look for devices]. Your phone will then look for other nearby Bluetooth devices to connect to (Figure 7).
