How to change themes on the Motorola MOTO Z10

It's quick and easy to transform the out-of-the-box look and feel of your Motorola MOTO Z10, simply by changing the theme - something you can do with just a few button presses.

By applying a new theme on a mobile phone, you can in one go change the complete look of the wallpapers, menu buttons, backgrounds, and add new sounds. How many elements of these are changes in a particular theme will depend on your phone make and model, and the way the theme has been created.

Many mobiles, including the Motorola MOTO Z10, have a selection of themes pre-loaded onto the phone for you to choose from. With a few key presses, you can change the theme to suit your own tastes or mood, and swap them back as much as you like.

In addition, you can find and download numerous new themes online, with many available free of charge. Motorola also offers a selection of themes on its website (www.hellomoto.com), which you can download straight from your phone using the Motorola links in the Z10's web browser. There are plenty of third party websites, too, that you can explore to find your desired theme to customise your phone.

How to change themes

• From the standby screen (Figure 1), press the Menu button on the Z10's control panel.
• In the Main menu, scroll up and across to highlight the Control panel icon (it looks like a cog and spanner) (Figure 2). Press Open by clicking the central navigation key.
• In the Control panel menu, highlight the Themes icon (it looks like a paint roller) (Figure 3). Press Open.
• You are now presented with a list of themes currently available on the phone. Any new themes you add later will be shown on this list. Scroll down to highlight the new theme you want to install (Figure 4).
• To get a preview of what the new theme looks like before you install it, press View by clicking on the central navigation pad (Figure 5). Press either the Done or Cancel softkey to return to the themes list.
• To install the theme, press the Options softkey. In the pop-up menu, scroll down to highlight Select (Figure 6). Press the Select softkey.
• A pop-up message appears briefly, telling you that the phone is 'Applying theme'. Moments later you will see the Control panel menu with its new theme applied (Figure 7).
• To get back to the see the new main menu look, simply press Back, or to get back to the original standby page with its new theme (Figure 8), press the red Call end button on the control pad.

You can swap back to the original theme, or to any new theme you've downloaded, in exactly the same way as many times as you like. Simply follow the same procedure outlined here.
