Set up profiles for your favourite contacts
Chris Leonard
The Motorola KRZR K1 has a number of customisation options to help you set up profiles for your favourite contacts
When organising your Phonebook you can set individual ringtones (Ringer ID), pictures (Picture ID) or Categories for each entry so you can immediately know who’s calling you. N.B. Ringer ID, Picture ID and categories are not available for entries stored on the SIM card.
Ringer IDs
These are individual ringtones set to specific Phonebook entries to help you more easily identify who is calling you.
To activate Ringer IDs:
- Go to Settings (Figure 1) and select Ring Styles (Figure 2).
- Select [Style] Detail and press Change (Figure 3).
- Scroll down to Ringer IDs and press Change to turn them on (Figure 4).
To set a Ringer ID for a Phonebook entry:
- On the Menu screen, select Phonebook/Contacts (Figure 5).
- Highlight the entry you want to edit and press Options (Figure 6).
- Select Edit Contact (Figure 7) and scroll down to Ringer ID and press Change (Figure 8).
- Then scroll down to the sound file you want to assign to that contact and press Select (Figure 9).
Picture IDs
The Motorola KRZR also lets you assign pictures or photos to Phonebook entries, which will be visible on the external display when that person calls you.
To setup Picture ID:
- On the Menu screen select Phonebook (Figure 5).
- Scroll down to the entry you want to edit and press Options (Figure 6).
- Select Edit Contact (Figure 7) then scroll down to Picture and press Change (Figure 10).
- Choose the picture you want to assign and press Select (Figure 11).
Phonebook Categories
You can also assign your Phonebook entries to specific categories; Business, Personal, General or VIP. To do this:
- On the Menu screen select Phonebook (Figure 5) and then scroll down to the entry you want to add to a category (Figure 6).
- Then press Options and choose Edit Contact (Figure 7) .
