Locking your Motorola KRZR K1
Chris Leonard
Protect your Motorola KRZR K1 mobile phone by putting some simple security measures in place
You can lock your phone to stop other people using by setting up a four-digit code. The default Unlock Code is 1234, so it is wise to change this to a number you can easily remember. To change your Unlock Code:
- Press The Central Navigation Button, highlight Settings and press Select (Figure 1).
- Scroll down to Security (Figure 2) and select New Passwords (Figure 3).
- Select Unlock Code (Figure 4). You will be asked to enter your old Unlock Code (Figure 5), then your new Code (Figure 6).
To lock your phone:
- Press The Central Navigation Button, highlight Settings and press Select (Figure 1).
- Scroll down to Security (Figure 2) and select Phone Lock (Figure 7).
- To automatically lock your phone when it’s not in use, select Automatic Lock and click On (Figure 8).
- You will then be asked to verify your Unlock Code.
- Scroll up to Lock Now and press Select (Figure 9).
You can also lock individual applications on the Motorola KRZR such as Contacts Web Access, Calls, Messages and so on:
- Press The Central Navigation Button, highlight Settings and press Select (Figure 1).
- Scroll down to Security (Figure 2) and select Lock Application (Figure 10).
- You will be prompted to enter your Unlock Code.
- Highlight the application you want to lock and press Change (Figure 11).

Re: Locking your Motorola KRZR K1My keypad on MOTOKRZR K1 is locked - just the keypad, NOT the phone. None of the keys work, but I can take phonecalls by opening the ringing phone. I also receive SMSs. Does anyone know how to unlock the keypad? Please help, I like the phone and don't want to change it! |
