Motorola Xoom Android Jelly Bean update surfaces
Reports from Motorola Xoom users suggest Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean is being rolled out to some devices
It would appear Jelly Bean, aka Android 4.1, has started to land for some Motorola Xoom tablets.
Users are reporting an over-the-air (OTA) update to Android 4.1.1, according to the Verge.
It's not clear whether this is a limited release to test everything out before the floodgates are fully opened, but it does mean the latest operating system is very near for Wi-Fi-only Xoom tablets, and hopefully not too far for 3G variants.
Of course, the latter depends on networks giving the update a thorough testing.
Worth the update? We think so. Android Jelly Bean really ups the ante over its predecessor, Ice Cream Sandwich. It's faster, even more refined and adds a number of new features including Google Now and improved Google Voice functionality for controlling your device with your voice.
