iPhone game developer 6th Mega will be donate 10 per cent of its proceeds generated from fishy game Puff Puff to charity.
"Most people don’t know the sixth mega extinction is happening today, right now – scientists estimate we lose an animal species every 20 minutes," says the team at 6th Mega.
"This rate of extinction has not been seen since the dinosaurs went extinct. If we continue at this rate, 50 per cent of all living species will be gone by the end of this century."
A depressing statistic we must admit. Luckily you can help, and get some gaming at the same time when Puff Puff is released in Spring 2010. Win, win, potentially.
“Our multi-touch game is not just another iPhone game. You will get an awesome, beautiful looking game with multi-touch controls never seen before - but also you will know that your purchase is doing something real to address the sixth mega extinction,” the team explained.
Gameplay involves an unlikely hero named Puff Puff, who, naturally, is a spiny puffer fish. Using the physics and buoyancy of the fish, it’s up to you to do something we aren’t quite sure of.
According to the press release, Puff Puff boasts ‘spectacular 3D visuals and graphics, highly addictive, fun but challenging gameplay and leaderboards, so it could be quite fun.
Puff Puff for the iPhone will be available for purchase in the spring of 2010 for 59p, should you like the sound of the game, or decide to indulge in a moment of charity.
