id Software has released Doom II RPG for iPhone. Like Wolfenstein RPG before it, Doom II RPG is a turn-based game where your movements are based on a grid, rather than being free-flowing.
The hellish creatures of Doom have returned, and in Doom II RPG you’re a solder tasked with checking out the distress call sent out by a research facility on the Moon. Over the course of the game, you’ll get to explore the Moon facility, Earth and Hell itself – id Software claims that there’s more than eight hours' worth of gameplay in total.
At the outset, you can pick from three different characters, so you’re not forced to play as the marine usually associated with the Doom series. He’s still there to choose, but you can also be a scientist or – shock horror – a female Major. Each has their own stats, so there are benefits to each choice.
