Here's another twin-stick shooter to add to the pile - could it be the goriest one yet?

Developer Byte Mark is to bring an iPhone game based on the classic horror Dawn of the Dead to the App Store.

As is to be expected of such a gib-tastic movie, the game looks pretty bloody and uses a top-down view to give you a view on the twin-stick carnage going on down below. As such, it follows on from the excellent iDracula and Alive 4-Ever, similarly action-packed twin-stick blasters.

However, Dawn of the Dead seems to focus on melee weapons rather than ranged ones, which we think is a good thing. After all, caving a zombie skull in with a baseball bat has got to be more satisfying that just aiming for its head with a pistol, right?

Dawn of the Dead has already been submitted to Apple, so you can expect it to lurch onto the App Store in a week or so.
