Gameloft has released the new edition of its long-running football series for the iPhone with Real Football 2010.
It’s lets you take part in the matches yourself, so you’re right there on the pitch rather than worrying about improving your stadium and managing the team’s latest PR blunder. Still. Real Soccer 2010’s impressive feature list shows it up as a game with an impressive amount of depth.
The game boasts a whopping 245 teams across eight leagues, with real player names thanks to the game’s FIFPro license. There’s even voice commentary to go with the gorgeous 3D match visuals. While the Real Soccer series has been dribbling along since before iPhone gaming even existed, Real Soccer 2010 demonstrates quite what a step up Gameloft can make with the iPhone.
There’s also multiplayer over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and we believe it’s not just local either, so you should be able to play against friends wherever they are. Gameloft’s got us convinced that it’s put a good deal of effort into this release, but we’re still left wondering how it’ll stack up to EA’s FIFA 10. For now though, Real Soccer 2010 has possession of the ball.
