Screenshots of Revolution’s upcoming iPhone re-working of classic point ‘n click adventure Beneath a Steel have been released.
They show you a little of what like playing the game on your iPhone will be like. Firstly, a direct tap method has been employed, meaning you won’t be dragging around a cursor, just tapping right on objects.
There’s also going to be new artwork by Dave Gibbons, the pen behind the Watchmen graphic novel. He’ll be contributing new cutscenes – most of the actual in-game visuals look pretty much just as we remember them, which is a good thing, really.
The music’s being remastered to suit iPhone’s audio prowess, which will hopefully mean that the original music will be put through a high quality orchestral sample grinder rather than giving the game a whole new set of tunes.
Revolution seems to be a company with its head screwed on though, presumably having seen the success of the LucasArts’s The Secret of Monkey Island and looking to replicate it with Beneath a Steel Sky.
