Wolfenstein RPG released for iPhone

EA’s iPhone version of Wolfenstein RPG has been released on the App Store.

It’s a turn-based roleplaying shooter where you get to blast away at Nazis to your heart’s content, until you realise there’s even more ungodly enemies lurking in the depths of their base. Check out our review of the mobile version for more on what to expect.

Wolfenstein RPG was actually ready for release on iPhone some months ago, but has been held back by EA cover concerns that gamers would get confused between it and Wolfenstein 3D Classic, released back in March.

While we can understand their concerns, it would always be a problem unless Classic was pulled off the App Store completely, which would be the very definition of the proverbial shooting oneself in the foot. In case you’re not aware of the difference, Classic is a port of the original 1992 game Wolfenstein 3D, while Wolfenstein RPG was made from the ground up for mobile.

Top tier iPhone developer Firemint handled the iPhone version of Wolfenstein RPG, which gives us every confidence that it may even be better than the acclaimed Wolfenstein 3D Classic. Wolfenstein RPG is available to buy for £2.99, while Wolfenstein 3D Classic will cost you £1.79.
