Modern Combat: Sandstorm gameplay video

Gameloft’s working on an impressive-looking 3D first-person shooter going under the name Modern Combat: Sandstorm. So, that’s nothing like the upcoming high profile console FPS Modern Warfare 2 at all then, is it?

A video preview of the game has been posted on Youtube by Pocket Gamer and it’s looking just as impressive as the company’s upcoming GTA-a-like Gangstar: West Coast Hustle. Check out the video below

As with any ambitious 3D game of this type though, we’re a bit concerned about the controls – if only because it’s almost always an issue on the iPhone. As you can see in the screenshot, movement’s handled using an analogue stick-style controller. We expect that, much like several other 3D Gameloft games, finger swipes across the screen will actually move your view.

It’s been reported that Modern Combat: Sandstorm has actually already been submitted to Apple, so we could be blasting away at sand warriors in no time.
