New York Nights from Gameloft on iPhone

Gameloft is bringing the hugely popular mobile lifestyle game New York Nights to the iPhone. Check out a trailer for the game below. It's got its very own twitter feed that promises that the game will be hitting the App Store before the month is over.

New York Nights is a lifestyle game where you socialise, drink and dance your way into the city’s glitterati. You can even get into relationships and start fights in this social simulator.

It’s looking a lot like its mobile predecessor, released back in 2008, but the visuals have been upscaled to make proper use of the iPhone’s high-resolution screen. We think that the touchscreen will slot in perfectly with New York Nights’ menu-based interface too, to offer a less fiddly experience than the mobile version- and we had no qualms about that version in the first place.

New York Nights’ closest upcoming competitor is The Sims 3, which is shaping-up nicely from the screenshots EA Mobile sent us recently. With a less impressive, albeit still charming, look New York Nights really wants to land on the App Store before its big brand rival if it’s to stake its claim for the iPhone’s lifestyle gaming crown.
