The hugely popular Sims franchise is coming to the iPhone with The Sims 3 from EA

Being the number 1 bestselling PC game franchise ever, it’s no surprise that EA is bringing The Sims to the iPhone, but the screenshots released of the game have really sparked our interest.
Far from being a simple mobile phone game conversion, The Sims 3 will feature full 3D visuals that, if not pushing the platform’s envelope, dance along the cutting edge. The game itself is sounding quite impressive too, with a claimed 10+ hours of gameplay.
The fact that they’ve even put a number of hours on the game suggests that it won’t be quite as open and expansive as its PC counterpart, and the inclusion of 4 mini-games relating to household chores pretty much confirms this, but a more casual slant on the game is probably better for when you’re on the go anyway. It will still include the characteristic intermingling with other characters though, and you’ll be able to find a partner, make friends or just plain annoy your neighbours.
The Sims 3 is due to appear on the App Store in June.
