Peggle coming to iPhone May 12th

No gaming platform is complete without a port of Popcap’s classic Peggle, but we’ve heard from Joystiq that it’s on its way to the App Store. The release date we currently have it May 12th, but we’ll have to wait to see whether this is a US-specific date or not.

The game has been in the works for a while but, in typical Popcap fashion, this is probably down to additional development time, making sure that the game is just right. Accordingly, Peggle probably won’t be a 59p freebie, and we expect it’ll arrive at around the £2.99 or £3.49 price point.

Having captured the hearts of gamers and non-gamers alike over the past few years, we can see it racing up the bestsellers’ chart without too much trouble even at a premium price. Expect a review in a couple of weeks, once we manage to drag ourselves away from Peggle’s hyper addictive peg-busting fun.
