Bejeweled Twist from Popcap released on mobile

Popcap has released casual jewel-matching game Bejewled Twist on mobile.

The company is responsible for some of the very best puzzle games available for phones, including Peggle, Chuzzle and Bookworm, while previous Bejeweled games have proved to be come of the best-selling mobile games ever. Here’s hoping Bejeweled Twist continues the trend.

It’s based on a familiar concept of turning jewels around to make matches, but here you rotate a group of four, as seen in popular Xbox Live game Hexic. On top of this central mechanic, there’ll be all sorts of combos to achieve and bonus power-ups to find too.

Thanks to the value they tend to place on their own brands, Popcap has become one of the safest pairs of hands in the mobile games business. We’ll be taking a more in-depth look at the game soon.
