An indie development team is undertaking an ambitious project, making an iPhone game from scratch in 30 days

An independent development team is currently halfway through a project to make a full iPhone game from scratch in 30 days. The game itself is called Wizzley Presto and the Mysterious Time Machine.

Although it’ll undoubtedly inspire a few amateur developers to crack open their SDK packs from Apple, the team’s key programmer ZodTTD is a bit of a legend on the homebrew scene, having worked on several major projects including a port of Transport Tycoon. There are two other people working on the project, a programmer and an artist, but it remains a tight little renegade group.

As a view into the development process, it’s fascinating. You can track Wizzley’s process over at the project’s official site, 30daygame.com. The team has 13 days left if they’re to keep within their strict time limit and they’re offering up $1000 to the first person that completes the game once it’s launched.

Although we’re not sure how much the game’s going to cost when it does arrive, we’d guess it wouldn’t stray far above the 59p mark, especially considering the teams quintessentially free-to-download homebrew roots.
