123play and Metro have teamed-up to offer you free mobile games via SMS

The daily free paper Metro has teamed up with ad-funded games specialist 123play.com to offer free mobile games to its readers. All you have to do is send an SMS using a shortcode found in the print, online and mobile editions of the Metro.
The games are 'wrapped' with advertising software that'll show you an advert for a few seconds each time the game is launched. However, it's likely that your handset will have to connect to the net to download new adverts as they are rotated.
There's a wide selection of games on offer from 123play.com including high quality 3D games from Fishlabs including Galaxy on Fire and Planet Riders, tower defence games like Tower Wars and casual classics like Cake Mania. If you're willing to live with the advert, that's a lot of gaming fun for free.
Lots of ad-funded gaming solutions have popped-up over the past few years, but bringing in the Metro, with its 3 million+ readership should hopefully bring ad-funded mobile gaming to a new audience.
