EA to bring new Worms game to mobile

EA mobile has announced that it's bringing a new Worms game to mobile.

The Worms series has been a long-standing bestseller on mobile, with a couple of instalments generally popping up each year. In the past THQ Wireless published the series, but as the company sadly retreated from publishing mobile games, it looked like the days of regular Worms games were over.

However, EA has picked up the baton and will soon be released a new Worms game for your phone. It’s no great surprise that such a successful series hasn’t managed to wriggle away so easily.

Details on the game are scant, but THQ Wireless’s approach was generally to stay fairly close to the classic Worms formula for their main games, leaving gameplay experimentation to the offshoot titles like Worms Forts and Worms Crazy Golf.

Whichever route EA decides to go down, we’re confident that they have the potential to bring a fresh new angle on the series- even if they stick rigidly to the classic Worms formula.
