Watchmen coming to iPhone in March

Warner Bros has announced it aill launch Watchmen: Justice is Coming onto the iPhone in March.

The game labels itself as both an "online role playing game" and a "dynamic strategy fighting game". In it, you'll get to create your own character ad explore a 3D rendition of the New York of the graphic novel and movie.

The game's battles, where you'll work your way up the ranks among the other players, are seemingly based on one-on-one battles where you tap certain areas on the screen to perform moves.

There will be a definite social element to the game too, with a built-in chat function that'll let you socialise with other players. These players will be spread out over five different areas that'll hopefully all evoke scenes from the film.

Developing connected elements in iPhone games are always interesting, but whether Justice is Coming will be any good is still completely reliant on whether the actual gameplay mechanics are any fun.

Looking like a side-on brawler at least in part, it seems a difficult game type to pull off considering the iPhone's capabilities, but we'll be back with more impressions when it hits the App Store in March.
