Setting up Bluetooth on the LG KG800
Matthew Haigh
Pair your phone with a friend's via Bluetooth
You can send and receive picture and music files via Bluetooth on your LG KG800 mobile phone
Bluetooth is a wireless system for connecting your mobile to a handsfree or computer. For most connections you have to “pair” your device and your phone. This involves putting both of them into pairing mode, and entering a passcode into both to allow the connection. Whilst this sounds complicated, it is quite straightforward and makes sure that no-one else can connect to your phone using their own Bluetooth headset or laptop.
To use Bluetooth, you should first set up a unique name for your phone, then turn Bluetooth on (by default it is off, to save battery power).
Go to the Settings menu (Figure 1), Connectivity (Figure 2), Bluetooth (Figure 3) (shortcut 9, 5, 1).
Under Settings (Figures 4 & 5), change your phone’s name to something unique (Figure 6). This will help you to identify which phone is yours when you want to connect to it.
The Visibility (Figures 7, 8 & 9) option lets you choose if your phone can be found when others do a scan for Bluetooth devices. In general you should have this set to be hidden, but enable it when you need to pair a new device with your phone.
To enable or disable Bluetooth, use the “Set Bluetooth” menu.
