How to listen to MP3, MP4, WMA and AAC music files on the LG KG800's music player
The Chocolate has a built-in music player, which is capable of playing MP3, MP4, WMA and AAC files. VBR (variable bit rate) files are not supported, but most other common MP3 files should work as bitrates of up to 320kbps are allowed. With the limited amount of storage available, you should consider resampling your music files down to a lower bitrate, such as 128kbps. With the standard headphones you are unlikely to be able to notice the difference, and will fit much more music on the phone.
Music files are put onto the phone using the USB mass storage mode – see “Copying Music and Images to/from the phone”. It is critical that you put the music files into the Music folder on your phone, and that you don’t create subfolders inside Music – any MP3s placed in one of these subfolders or anywhere other than the Music folder won’t be found by the player.
To start the player press and hold the MP3 button on the side of the phone; or from the Main Menu select Multimedia (Figure 1) then MP3 Player (Figure 2). The player is quite basic (Figure 3 & 4); there is no support for multiple playlists, but you can choose to play the tracks in a random by selecting Settings (Figure 5), PlayMode (Figure 6) then Shuffle (Figure 7) in the Playmode menu. You can also set one of your tunes to be your ringtone by selecting it in the music player, pressing the Options softkey (Figure 8), then choosing “Set as ringtone” (Figure 9).
