Browsing the internet
Matthew Haigh
Get to grips with browsing the world wide web from your LG KG800 mobile phone
If you haven’t already done so, set up your browsing access profile (link to “Setting up GPRS for browsing”).
Go to the browser (Figure 1) menu . You now have three choices; you can dive straight into the browser using option 1 (Figure 2), in which case you’ll be taken to your homepage. If you already have some bookmarks set, you can chose one of these using option 2. To go straight to a particular website, choose option 3 to type in the URL.
Inside the browser, the options menu lets you go backwards and forwards through pages you’ve loaded (Figure 3), go to your homepage (Figure 4), enter a URL or manage your bookmarks. The bookmarks (Figure 5)option is also where you can set the homepage to be the one you prefer (Figure 6), such as your mobile network’s portal or a search engine.
Leaving the browser appears to be a bit of challenge; there isn’t a menu item to close it. The trick is to press the red hangup/power button on the right hand side of the phone.
If you aren’t on a flat rate data tariff, you’ll want to keep track of how much you’ve been using. This is done in the Call Register menu (Figure 7), GPRS Information (Figure 8), Data Volume (Figure 9) (shortcut menu 2,7,2). From here you can check or reset your data count (Figure 10).
