How to change themes on the LG KF600

The LG KF600 has an innovative dual-display touchscreen set-up that can adopt a bright new look and feel quickly and easily by changing themes

"LG has included eight themes, five of which use striking animated graphics based on Keith Haring's distinctive artwork"

The LG KF600's unique dual-screen touchpad controlled design is complemented by some creative use of themes to make this handset stand out from the crowd even if it's in standby mode.

The 2-inch upper display and 1.5-inch touchscreen InteractPad beneath can both be changed simultaneously to give a different look and feel by changing the phone's themes - a simple and quick operation that requires few button presses.

The results though on the KF600 are impressive. LG has included eight themes, five of which use striking animated graphics based on Keith Haring's distinctive artwork. Both the upper display and the InteractPad control display change colour, look and feel. And if you hide the InteractPad buttons (with one key press), the two screens work together to display the animations, as if they're moving between screens.

At the moment there are no additional downloadable themes for the KF600, but it's easy to change themes on the handset to view LG's imaginative creations.

  1. Press the side camera/unlock button to switch off the screen lock, or slide open the keypad.
  2. Press the Menu icon (with four dots) on the top left of the InteractPad touch-operated control pad (Figure 1).
  3. Use the InteractPad touchpad directional controls to highlight the Settings icon in the main menu - it looks like a cog (Figure 2). Press the OK box on the touchpad.
  4. In the Settings menu scroll down to highlight Screen and press OK (or if you have the numberpad slide open, press the number 3 - corresponding to the number next to the Screen option in the menu list) (Figure 3).
  5. In the Screen menu scroll down to highlight Theme and press OK (or if you have the numberpad slide open, press the number 5) (Figure 4).
  6. In the Theme menu scroll down to pick one of the eight available themes. Highlight the one you want to use and press OK (or press the corresponding number next to the name of the theme on the phone numberpad) (Figure 5). Within a few seconds your theme will be changed. You will notice the background colour of both displays has changed (Figure 6).

Press the Back button three times or the call End button once to get back to the standby screen and view the new-look animated wallpaper and controls (Figure 7).

To see the new animation interacting across both displays, press the bottom right hand button on the InteractPad (Figure 8).

As well as the standby screen, changing themes transforms the menus and InteractPad controls too (Figure 9).
