Sending files via Bluetooth from the LG Shine
You can send photos, videos, tones and files from your LG Shine to any Bluetooth-enabled mobile or PC. It's easy, and it's free!
You can send photos, videos and voice recordings - in fact, any file - from your LG Shine to a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone or PC using the wireless connection. It's fast, easy, and best of all, it's free.
Sending a file
To send a file via Bluetooth, follow these steps:
Locate the file to be sent on your phone or SD card. All video and audio content is stored in My stuff, which you can access by going to the main menu (from Standby mode, click Menu), highlighting My stuff and clicking OK (or simply by pressing the 7 key).
Open the relevant section (press 1 for Images, 2 for Sounds, 3 for Videos and 4 for Documents) and highlight the item you want to send.
Click Options, highlight Send via and click OK (or click the relevant shortcut number on the keypad).
Highlight Bluetooth and click OK (or press 2)
If Bluetooth is turned off, you'll be prompted to switch it on. Highlight Yes and click OK or just press 1. You'll see the confirmation message Bluetooth on.
Click Search to locate Bluetooth-enabled devices in the vicinity. When the LG Shine has finished searching for devices, highlight the name of the destination device and click Select.
The message 'Sending' will appear on-screen until the destination phone or PC accepts the file. When confirmed, a status bar will appear showing the file being sent. If the recipient rejects the file, you'll see the message 'Sending failed'.
When a file has been sent you'll be taken back to the relevant My stuff sub-section.
Receiving a file
When someone sends you a file via Bluetooth, you'll see a message saying 'Receive filename?'. Highlight Yes and click OK to receive the file or highlight 2 and click OK to reject. Alternatively, just click 1 to receive and 2 to reject.
As the file is being transferred, a status bar will appear on-screen.
The file will be placed in the relevant folder in the My stuff section - photo files (.jpg, .gif or .png) in Images, movies in Video, sound files (.mp3, .wav or .mid) in Sounds and Word, text, PowerPoint, Excel or PDF files (.ppt, .doc, .pdf, .xls and .txt formats) in Documents. Unidentified file formats will be placed in the Others folder.
