Huawei Ascend W1 pictured in white, set for CES reveal?
With another leaked shot of the Huawei Ascend W1 surfacing, this time in white, a CES reveal looks likely for Huawei's Windows Phone 8 line
Huawei has entered the Windows Phone 8 arena with the Huawei Ascend W1 - possibly set for a CES 2013 unveil.
Confirmed as a launch partner for the OS way back when Windows Phone 8 was announced, Huawei is the fourth OEM to reveal its take on live tiles, the Huawei Ascend W1 and the Ascend W3 uncovered in grainy technicolour.
The first white version of the W1 appeared on Twitter, but the latest starred on Wpcentral which suggests a CES reveal is on the cards for the two Ascends.
The Ascend W1 has already been snapped in cyan and packs a 4-inch WVGA display, a 1.2GHz processor, 2000mAh battery and NFC. It's also decked out with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front facer. The Ascend W1 is the lower end of the two leaked devices, with its bigger brother, the Ascend W3's specs more in line with what we've come to expect from Windows Phone 8 flagships. This means an 8-megapixel camera, 4.5-inch LCD display and we suspect a dual-core processor.
Supposedly pegged for a CES reveal, it could be little over a month before we see these phones in the flesh. The speculation makes perfect sense given the fact that CES 2012 is where Huawei showcased its last batch of flagships, the Ascend P1 and the Ascend P1 LTE. With any luck, the Ascend W1 and W3 will help the infant OS along, likely arriving with Huawei's trademark compelling price-points and solid performance.
