Huawei Ascend W1 Windows Phone 8 handset leaks online
The Windows Phone 8-powered Huawei Ascend W1 has been leaked online and shares more than a passing resemblance to HTC’s 8X
Huawei’s upcoming Windows Phone 8-powered Ascend W1 has leaked online, demoing for the first time what we can expect from Windows Phone’s last remaining hardware partner.
The images, which are rather blurry, come via Blog of Mobile, and claim to show off Huawei’s soon-to-be-released Windows Phone 8 handset, the Ascend W1, which seems to bear more than a passing resemblance to HTC’s Windows Phone 8X device.
Rumoured specs for the device include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4-inch WVGA display (800x480 resolution), a 5-megapixel rear camera, a VGA resolution front camera, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 2,000mAh battery.
None of the above has been officially confirmed but if the alleged specifications are true, what you’re looking at here is the runt of Microsoft’s initial Windows Phone 8 litter.
The upside to this is that it’ll probably be priced accordingly, meaning it’s likely to be an entry-level handset like HTC's 8S handset.
Huawei has yet to confirm when the Ascend W1 will be launching. But considering the Windows Phone 8/Windows 8 saga is about to kick off, it’s safe to assume that we probably won’t have to wait too long until this device is officially outed.
More news as we get it.
