Huawei confirms 30Gbps Beyond LTE network
Huawei has created a network that goes beyond current LTE standards, producing rates of up to 30Gbps
Huawei has created a network that goes beyond current LTE standards, producing rates of up to 30Gbps – that’s more than 20 times faster than current LTE networks.
‘Mobile networks are developing at an unprecedented rate,’ said David Wang, president of Huawei’s Wireless Network Business Unit.
He added: ‘Future technologies will bring revolutionary advances in network evolution—higher spectrum efficiency, wider spectrum aggregation, and faster access rates. Our Beyond LTE technology signifies the future of mobile broadband.’
Huawei said that it achieved these speeds with ‘key breakthroughs in antenna structure, radio frequency architecture, IF (intermediate frequency) algorithms, and multi-user MIMO (multi-input multi-output).’
Adding: ‘Key features include: innovative antenna structure [that] greatly improves performance and meets wideband requirements [and] next generation direct radio frequency technology [that] reduces costs and power consumption, and realises ultra broadband carrier aggregation.’
Huawei outlined the key features of its Beyond LTE network:
- Innovative antenna structure greatly improves performance and meets wideband requirements
- Next generation direct radio frequency technology reduces costs and power consumption, and realises ultra broadband carrier aggregation
- Cutting-edge multi-antenna coding algorithm makes full use of MIMO (multi-input multi-output) channel capacity
Commercial products using Huawei’s Beyond LTE network are expected to hit the market in three years time.
At present, it is unclear whether this technology will be coming to the UK.
