The HTC One X, One X+, and One S will all be upgraded to Sense 5, HTC has confirmed - but before you go getting too excited, there’s likely to be some omissions

HTC has confirmed that Sense 5 will be coming to the HTC One X, HTC One X+, and HTC One S.

Sense 5 for the above devices will launch inside the next ‘few months,’ according to HTC’s Facebook page, but there will be some omissions: ‘some features enabled by the new HTC One hardware will not be available in the software updates.’

Tasked with re-establishing HTC’s global footing, the HTC One was always going to be special. It had to be: HTC’s survival depends it. And while the device’s specs and hardware are impressive, equalling anything we saw launched at MWC 2013 this past week, it’s the new-look Sense 5 that’s likely to draw most attention.

Packed with new software features like Blink Feed and HTC Zoe, HTC’s Sense 5 is a veritable treasure trove of goodies waiting to be explored. Adding this level of cosmetic modification to an Android device, with many users now preferring cleaner, more basic, UXs was always going to be a massive gamble. But when the chips are down and your back’s against the wall you might as well play big. And that’s exactly what HTC has done.

The HTC One gets a UK release date on March 15, according to reports. That's one day after the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S4.
