HTC M7 shows up in network databases
The flagship HTC M7 has appeared in black and silver in Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse product databases
The forthcoming HTC flagship, the HTC M7, has been spotted in two leaked pictures showing the product databases of Carphone Warehouse and Vodafone Germany.
In both cases it is listed as the HTC M7, rather than having any replacement product name. It was expected that M7 was a working codename which would be changed ahead of release and this could indeed still be the case as preliminary listings such as these are not at all unusual.
However, with Pocket-lint’s picture (the Carphone Warehouse one), the publication reports that ‘Carphone Warehouse never lists devices under a codename, so that may well confirm that the final name will in fact be HTC M7.’
In both inventories, the M7 is shown to come in two colour variants: black or silver.
Other details haven't been listed, but the phone is believed to be scheduled for a pre-Mobile World Congress event on February 19 in London and New York, where it will show off a 4.7-inch 1920x1080 pixel display, Android Jelly Bean and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core chipset clocked at 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM.
Previous leaks have shown HTC's new Sense 5 UI which appears to have a cleaner and more minimalist look, while most recently details have emerged that the 13-megapixel camera will use a three 4.3-megapixel layer sensor to deliver what the company calls 'Ultrapixel' quality images and video.
Anticipation for HTC’s next release is quite high, not least because the company has suffered some serious setbacks in recent months with consistently declining sales.
Some believe this is HTC’s last chance to make a comeback, but the manufacturer has recently undergone an internal re-shuffle with a completely new marketing lead and a new strategy.
Hopefully it will all pay off as we rather like HTC’s unique styling and emphasis on premium builds.
