White Nexus 4 leaks online

A white version of Google’s Nexus 4 has leaked online but there’s no word on if and when it’ll be appearing

Images of a white version of Google’s Nexus 4 have appeared online, beginning speculation that another model of the hugely popular phone is on its way.

The leaked image comes via Phone Arena, which is reporting that ‘back in November, we had heard a rumour that there was a white Nexus 4 in the works, and that it was planned for release in December (possibly bundled with the Nexus 7), but that never happened.’

But now there’s a leaked image of the alleged white Nexus 4 – one shot on an LG Optimus G no less. The plot has well and truly thickened. And, best of all, Phone Arena says following its analysis of the image it doesn’t appear to be fake.

Even the Nexus 4’s disco-pattern is visible in the lower right-hand corner, adding further weight to the source’s claims that what we’re looking at is indeed a new white version of Google’s super-low-priced Nexus 4.

The Nexus 4 is currently sold-out on Google’s UK Play store, where it can – theoretically – be picked up for either £239 or £279. And there’s no word on when we’ll be getting a new batch of Nexus 4 handsets in the UK either.

During its recent earnings call Google CEO Larry Page said his company would be taking measures to ensure it improves the supply-side of its business, following swathes of complaints about the handset constantly being sold out.

That’s all well and good but it’s difficult to see Google remedying the Nexus 4 supply issues anytime soon. And that doesn’t bode particularly well for a white version of the handset. The black Nexus 4 exists and it’s impossible to get direct from Google.

Google has not commented on the existence of the white Nexus 4.
