Virgin Mobile UK has confirmed that it will be carrying Google’s Nexus 4 handset

Virgin Mobile UK just confirmed that it is now carrying Google’s Nexus 4 on a variety of pay-monthly packages.

Joining the likes of Three, O2, and Vodafone, Virgin is somewhat late to the Nexus 4 party but this will be good news all the same to consumers loyal to the network, which isn’t known for carrying big name handsets.

The handset is available on two types of 24-month contract: Starter and Premier. All of which support a myriad of different call and data packages. See here for more details on tariff costs and features

However, we’d still advise you to try and get a Nexus 4 direct from Google – if you can get one from the Play store that is (stock has been awful since the device launched in Q4 2012).

If you can get a Nexus 4 direct from Google, though, it's definitely the right way to go. It’ll cost you more up front – £239 for the 8GB or £279 for the 16GB – but you'll have the freedom to move from network to network in search of the best deal.

And when the time comes you can put your device on eBay and use the money generated from its sale to put towards a new handset. This way you're never in a network's pocket. You are free!
