Buyers in the UK can now get hold of Google's Nexus 4 handset on contract from Three

Three is now stocking Google’s Nexus 4 flagship Android handset on pay monthly plans.

The smartphone was previously available SIM-free through Google’s Play web store and repeatedly sold out in short order.

With Three you can pick up the 16GB model on The One Plan for £29 upfront and then a two year contract at £35 per month. The contract includes 2,000 any network minutes a month plus 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes, 5,000 texts and unlimited data.

The Nexus 4, built by LG, has proven a hit with consumers for its low price point and premium spec. It sports a 4.7-inch IPS + capacitive display with a 1280x768 pixel resolution at 318 pixels-per-inch (ppi).

The processor is a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core setup with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit (GPU) and you also get an 8-megapixel BSI primary camera with LED flash and capable of 1080p video capture, plus a 1.3-megapixel secondary for video calling.

The whole package runs on the latest version of Android, version 4.2 Jelly Bean, but being a Nexus device you can be sure it'll be quickly updated as subsequent versions rollout.

Of course, with this deal you’ll end up paying a lot more than you would just buying the phone straight-up from Google for £279 and then grabbing a SIM-only contract (or even going pre-pay), but you won’t have the pain of it all going out at once.
