We explain how to add and remove widgets from your Nexus 4 homescreen
The Nexus 4 is one of the most powerful smartphones currently on the market. It offers outstanding hardware and Google's superb Android OS in its most current iteration, 4.2.2, better known as Jelly Bean, and this software platform is capable of being as much or as little as the individual user wants it to be.
One great feature which Android has is the ability to make use of widgets on your device's homescreen, which can bring you real-time information - and here's a quick step-by-step guide to get you started working with them.
- Tap the ‘Menu' shortcut
- At the top of the screen you will see tabs reading ‘Apps' and ‘Widgets' - tap ‘Widgets
- Scroll through and select the widget you wish to add to your home screen
- Once you've chosen, press and hold on the item you selected
- You can now drag your chosen widget to whichever home screen you wish to add it
You can re-size some widgets by long-pressing on them until you see a translucent box appear, with blue re-sizing markers
To delete a widget that's no longer needed, long press on it on your homescreen and drag it up to the ‘Remove' tab that appears at the head of the screen
