Google says more Nexus 4 phones are on the way to the Google Play store today

Google has revealed its Play store will be getting a fresh batch of Nexus 4 handsets delivered at 5pm UK time today (December 4).

The popular handset, which sports a Qualcomm quad core processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and 318ppi display, sold out in record time when it first went on sale on November 13.

The device is already in the number five spot for highest-selling handsets in the UK

The news of new devices being shipped in was revealed via emails sent to interested customers who’d signed up for notifications.

This latest shipment is expected to sell out pretty quickly, interest is still understood to be high with prices starting from £239 for an 8GB model SIM-free, although hopefully Google has adjusted to the overwhelming demand for which it was previously unprepared by bringing in a larger number of units.

Previously the phone’s popularity also caused problems for shoppers visiting the web store, reports emerged of faulty checkout procedures, self-emptying shopping baskets and all-round erratic and unresponsive behaviour.

Again, hopefully Google will have tweaked its website and back-end infrastructure to cope.
