Connect 4 and Battleship coming to iPhone

Hasbro's classic board games Battleship and Connect 4 are coming to the iPhone - fresh with a gameplay update
Published on Nov 3, 2009
Hasbro and EA have struck a deal that’ll see classic board games Battleship and Connect 4 released onto the App Store soon.
These won’t just be simple, un-enhanced conversions though, although if you want the plain old board game experience it’ll undoubtedly be included. These games are largely an update of those included in the Battleship & Connect 4 bundle pack released earlier this year by EA.
What does this mean in gameplay terms though? Well, there are special game pieces that can destroy or block your enemy in Connect 4 and super weapons, each with their own animations, in Battleship.
Most important for games of this type though, both Connect 4 and Battleship with include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi multiplayer. Sadly, it looks like it’ll be local only – so you’ll have to be pretty close by your adversary – but then being able to stare into the whites of your opponent’s eyes always adds something to these traditional board games.
We don’t have a release date on Battleship or Connect 4 for iPhone as yet, but they’ll be heading to the App Store before Christmas.
