The Motorola MOTO Z10 kick-slider phone has been released in the UK, delivering 3G HSDPA smartphone functionality plus high quality video facilities

Motorola has released its much-awaited Z10 kick-slider phone in the UK, with O2 initially selling the 3G HSDPA smartphone exclusively on its network deals.

The MOTO Z10 is the successor to Motorola's novel Z8 'banana phone' model, which introduced a curved style of slide action. The upgraded features include a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, which also supports video shooting at 30 frames per second.

Based on the Symbian UIQ operating system, the Z10 has a sophisticated rundown of multimedia features, including extensive in-phone video editing facilities that enable users to shoot, add effects and soundtracks before uploading directly to a blog or website.

The Z10 has a 2.2-inch 16-million colour QVGA display which can be used for widescreen video playback, and Motorola is supplying the handset with the three full length movies in The Bourne Trilogy loaded up on to a memory card. The Z10 supports high capacity MicroSD memory cards up to 32GB, on top of its 70MB of internal user memory.

The Z10 is designed with a sharper, more upmarket look than the Z8, with a polished metal and black textured casing. It has a multi-format music player onboard, and supports music video downloads and streaming over the air as well as high-speed browsing.

It measures 109.7(h) x 50.7(w) x 16.8(d) mm, and weighs 115g. Motorola claims talktime of up to 7 hours on GSM networks or p to 4 hours on 3G, with a standby rating of up to 400 hours.

The Z10 is available now from O2 stores now, priced from free to £149.99, depending on contract.
