Been wandering how long until you can get your paws on the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900? Well, the wait could be as little as one month.

According to the online retailer Play.com, the latest BlackBerry will be available to buy from August 12, 2011. Clove.co.uk mentions 'late August' and the Carphone Warehouse also echoes a late summer release.

Not all retailers agree on the August release date, though. Amazon.co.uk has September 15, 2011, pencilled in, so it could be two months before the latest RIM handset arrives in the UK.

The BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 may not have a release date set in stone, but we know for sure it's upping the ante. Featuring a powerful 1.2GHz processor - a first for the brand, 2.8-inches of high resolution touch screen and the new BlackBerry 7 operating system, it's definitely a step up from its predecessor, the 9780.

It's also the thinnest BlackBerry yet, at a fairly measly 10.5mm thick, which should make it more pocketable than previous offerings and perhaps, dare we way it, a little more stylish. Well, as stylish as a phone with a keyboard can be.

How can you get your hands on the device? Besides paying the £520-odd for the handset from one of the retailers listed above, O2, Vodafone and Three are all expected to stock the device.

Considering BlackBerry's have started to feel a little 'sluggish' when compared with the dual core HTC and Samsung handsets on the market, the Bold Touch 9900's release is well-timed.

Let's just hope BlackBerry sorts out the lack of apps pronto.
