LG gets touch sensitive with KF700 and KF600
LG has introduced two new touch control user interfaces with its latest models - the touchscreen KF700, and the KF600 with InteractPad context controls

LG is getting all touch-sensiitive with its new mobiles, launching two models - the KF700 and KF600 - that use different types of touch-operated controls.
LG KF 700
The KF700 is a large screened slider phone device that combines three input methods aimed at making an intuitive, easy to use mobile user interface. It has a 3-inch touchscreen, alphanumeric keypad and a shortcut dial, each of which is assigned to the activity or features with which it works most efficiently.
LG believes the KF700 interface will encourage users to get to grips more easily with multimedia applications. The KF700 is a 3G HSDPA- enabled device that has 3G video calling, downloading and streaming capabilities, plus an onboard music player and 3-megapixel camera among its key features
The touchscreen provides easy access to features, with widgets to access handy features users can flick through. The shortcut dial on the back of the phone, controls a virtual dial onscreen that pulls up six user-selected features to give users instant access to most used features from anywhere in the phones menus - such as email, web browsing or message creation.
LG KF600
The LG KF600 is a sliderphone that replaces a standard navigation pad control on the outside with a context-specific control pad, the InteractPad. Function keys on this virtual control panel change according to the functions or applications being used.
The InteractPad displays the keys the user needs for that particular function - such as camera or music player controls - when needed. This pad has vibrating and noise feedback to indicate a button has been pressed. Users can also change themes on the KF600's user interface and InteractPad, with eight supplied on the phone.
The KF600 is a tri-band GSM handset rather than a 3G model, and features a 3-megapixel camera, music player, FM radio and touch control games. It will be available in pastel pink, shiny pink, wine red and titan grey.
LG's KF700 is lined up for release in Europe in mid-March, while the KF600 is available imminently.
