Nokia unveils successor to the N95
Nokia unveils the N96 - the long-awaited successor to the 7-million selling N95. It boasts a big 2.8-inch screen and 16GB of internal memory

Nokia has unveiled the much-anticipated replacement for the Nokia N95 handset - the Nokia N96.
The new phone has an impressive set of specifications: a 2.8-inch screen, 16GB of internal memory, 3G/HSDPA/WiFi connectivity, GPS and support for the new DVB-H mobile TV standard.
Nokia is heavily touting the video capabilities of the Nokia N96 which can capture video at full 30 frames per second resolution and can be expanded via an optional microSD card to a whopping 24GB of total memory.
Design wise, the Nokia N96 shares the dual slider form factor of its predecessor but with its bigger screen and black fascia looks much more striking than the N95.
"In 2007, the Nokia N95 became an icon of convergence of Internet and mobility," gushed Nokia spokesman Jonas Geust. "With over 7 million units sold to date, the N95 has changed the way people use their mobile device. The Nokia N96 we introduced today builds on the success of N95, further enhancing the experience."
The phone is scheduled to go on sale in the third quarter of 2008 and will cost about 550 Euros before any taxes or subsidies are applied.
