Get YouTube for Mobile, watch millions of videos

The new YouTube for Mobile application provides a richer experience, more akin to the online service

YouTube has launched a downloadable application that revolutionises the mobile experience - with tens of millions of videos now available to view on your phone

You can now browse and view tens of millions of videos available on YouTube directly on your mobile phone following the launch of a new downloadable application from YouTube.

The YouTube for Mobile (beta) application greatly expands the availability of content mobile phone users can watch on their phones. Previous limited YouTube mobile services have offered only a relative handful of popular video clips rather than the vast array of content that's available online.

The new YouTube for Mobile application provides a richer experience, more akin to the online service, with users able to access the latest, best and most viewed videos, search for videos, and watch subscriptions, playlists and favourite videos. The mobile service will be user personisable too, and users will be able to access features they normally use online.

The new YouTube mobile application also enables users to upload videos straight from their mobiles.

YouTube for Mobile is initially compatible with a handful of phones - including the Nokia N73, N95, E65, 6110 and 6120 and the Sony Ericsson K800 and W880 - but the application will soon be available across a wide range of handsets from all the leading mobile brands. It requires a 3G connection

The YouTube for Mobile (beta) application is now available to download directly to your mobile phones. Direct your mobile's browser to http://m.youtube.com/app and follow the simple download instructions.

Users can visit http://www.youtube.com/mobile for more details and instructions on downloading the application.

Mobile users enjoying videos on the YouTube for Mobile application will be subject to data charges from their mobile network for both viewed or uploaded footage, so it's recommended that users have a flat rate data tariff deal with their network (YouTube helpfully reminds users of this when they're downloading the app and accessing the service).

The newly expanded YouTube for Mobile service will initially be available in 17 countries (United States, Japan, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Poland, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, New Zealand, Germany and Russia) and 11 languages (English, Japanese, Italian, French, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Chinese, German and Russian).
