LG is bringing high-spec shooting to mass market cameraphones with the 5-megapixel LG-KC550 pre-pay special
LG has announced a low-cost 5-megapixel cameraphone, the LG-KC550, which boasts a high quality Schneider-Kreuznach lens and image stabiliser among its high-spec camera features.
The KC550, which is aimed at the pre-pay market, is a sliderphone with a 2.4-inch screen and is equipped with accelerometer technology to rotate images automatically between vertical and horizontal display as the phone is moved. It doesn't feature 3G technology, relying instead on tri-band GSM/GPRS for data connectivity.
As well as high quality stills imaging, the KC550 features a video capture facility for shooting at 30 frames per second and playback at maximum 720x480 resolution. There's also a TV output option on the device.
Other regular LG mobile specs include a music player and FM radio, and it supports MicroSD card expansion. Motion controlled games, as introduced on the LG secret, are included here too with darts, fishing and maze games to play.
The LG-KC550 will be available from June 2008 and sold via Phones 4U, The Carphone Warehouse and Tesco.
