Nokia signs video deal with Sony Pictures, CNN and more


Nokia boosts its Nokia Video Centre service for mobiles by adding new content partners including Sony Pictures and CNN

Nokia has signed deals with leading multimedia companies to deliver video content directly to its high-end Nseries smartphones, including the Nokia N95.

Nokia has inked agreements with seven content providers – CNN, Sony Pictures, IBN, Jamba, RooftopComedy, ROK and Versaly Entertainment – to provide mobile video content for the Nokia Video Centre, a service available on Nseries devices via 3G, Wi-Fi or using a PC.

The Nokia Video Centre service offers a range of different video services for Nseries devices users, from branded on-demand video to internet video podcasts. YouTube and Reuters are already available on the Nokia service.

Highlights of the new services will include Sony PIctures trailers and other content related to current and upcoming movies, TV shows and games, and the latest news form CNN. Other content will include a range of comedy, cartoons, music videos and other assorted entertainment and news content.
