Nokia N98 official announcement rumoured

Nokia is thought to be lining up to officially launch the Nokia N98, also referred to as the N8-00, before the end of April.

We brought news of the N98 just a few days ago and now, according to EngadgetMobile, we can expect to get our hands on the full details and official press shots in a few short weeks, around the middle of April.

Since the original spy shots surfaced there's been quite a lot of fuss about the N8, rightly so with it rumoured to be the first Nokia handset to carry the new Symbian^3 operating system.

There's no new info on the specs of the flagship device and no confirmation from Espoo that the images are real.

However, a post on Twitter from the often reliable Eldar Murtazin asserts that the snaps are real and that the will ship with a 12-megapixel, Xenon flash equipped, monster snapper as well as an HDMI output.

According to Murtazin, the N98/N8-00 is currently scheduled with a September 2010 release date; tallying that suggestion with rumours of an announcement next month would leave a five month interim between formal introduction and release, not too wild a suggestion by any means.
