Nokia VP, David Rivas has unveiled a video preview of the new Symbian^3 UI at a press briefing in San Francisco.
The new Symbian^3 platform boasts improvements in both speed, usability and all round functionality.
According to Engadget, the Symbian^3 UI incorporates customisable home screens and faster access to important phone features, such as call, text and email features.
In addition to this, Symbian^3 is also reported to feature hundreds of usability improvements, meaning fewer snags and glitches.
Rivas also claimed that Symbian^3’s graphics performance would be – about - three times faster than the current S60 5th addition.
That said, there’s been no official release date set for Symbian^3 as yet.
Nevertheless, if the video, captured by PhoneDog, is anything to go by it looks like Symbian could be limbering up to take the fight to Apple and Android.
