Sony CEO Howard Stringer has hinted that Sony will be introducing an Apple-alike web-based service, while another source has revealed there'll be a new range of portable devices from the manufacturer.
A source has told The Wall Street Journal that Sony is looking to square-off against Apple with a new line of portable devices, including a smartphone before the end of this year.
These portable devices will all be able to access the Sony Online Service media network a la Apples iTunes and App Store.
There are no specs or specifics confirmed at this time, and Sony spokespeople are declining to comment. We will bring you more details as they develop.
