O2 is set to announce a new HTC handset next Wednesday at MWC 2010

O2, in conjunction with HTC, is expected to launch a new device on the 17th February at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The rumour comes via Pocket-Lint.com who learnt that the CEO of HTC (Peter Chou) and O2's UK General Manager (Steve Alder) will be holding a press conference, presumably to formally introduce a new handset.
Device-wise there's been no shortage of leaked HTC handsets, so there are plenty of likely suspects. Perhaps the Bravo, Incredible or Legend, would be the most likely, but it's possible that it could be something totally unknown as well.
O2 is actually one of the networks that the Bravo hasn't been rumoured for, and details of an HTC Scorpion, reportedly packing a 1.5Ghz Snapdragon processor and running Android 2.2, surfaced recently; so we're really, really hoping that its the Scorpion that we get a peek at next Wednesday.
At this stage neither O2 nor HTC are willing to comment ahead of the big event, but it's not long to wait now.
