LG GD510 POP Sun Edition launched

The solar panel equipped LG GD510 Sun Edition has been officially launched

LG's budget specialist, the GD510 POP now has a sister handset in the form of the GD510 POP Sun Edition.

The only difference between the Sun Edition and the standard POP is the battery casing, which in the case of the Sun Edition is a solar panel, that can reportedly provide 2 minutes 15 seconds of talk-time or 180-minutes on standby from just 10 minutes in direct sunlight.

Admittedly the UK isn't renowned for being the sunniest place in the world, but nor is the Ukraine, which is currently the only place that the GD510 POP Sun Edition is being offered. A slightly puzzling choice of launch market on LG's part there.

Despair not solar panel coveting POP owners, the original GD510 POP's backplate can be swapped out for the solar option if you purchase it separately for your existing handset, getting your hands on one in the UK might be a little more challenging though.
