EA will play a significant role in Apple’s iSlate announcement on Wednesday.
The Wall Street Journal has reported that game developers like Electronic Arts are looking to capitalise on the rampant success of mobile game applications for the iPod Touch and the iPhone by partnering with Apple.
While EA has been behind some of the most successful apps on the iPlatforms potential for gaming, such as the bestselling Sims 3, the arrival of a larger and more powerful member to the iFamily will certainly broaden the reach.
Crunchgear has reported that the tablet is likely to have somewhere between a 7-inch and 11-inch inch screen, with up to 640X800 pixel resolution on the new display.
The tablet will also feature a faster processor as well as upgraded RAM capacity. If the new Apple tablet shares any of the easy interface elements that the iPhone touts then it will make for an excellent gaming platform.
Developers like EA are seeing the market trends and playing their odds. With game apps selling the best of all genres it’s a sure bet that a tablet with a larger screen and processor than the current iPhone models will be an ideal platform for game apps.
